188 평소 일정과 특정한 날의 일정 구분해서 말하기

🅰 It’s Saturday. Do you have any special plans for tonight? 토요일이네. 오늘 밤에 특별한 계획이라도 있나?

🅱 I usually have dinner with my family on Saturdays, but tonight I’m eating out with some of my colleagues. 토요일에는 보통 가족들과 저녁을 먹는데, 오늘 밤에는 동료 몇 명과 외식할 거야.

◻ I never read books. but I’m reading a book now. Because I have to finish my essay writing. 나는 책을 절대 안 읽지만, 지금 읽고 있어. 왜냐하면 나는 나의 에세이를 마무리해야 하기 때문이야.

9. 느낀점   :

이번 한주는 평소 일정(현재시제), 예외 일정(과거/현재진행/미래시제)의 시제를 구분하는 표현을 배웠다.

– help + 대상 + with 명사

– help + 대상 + 동사원형은 have / make / let 동사도 ‘~하게 하다’라는 의미로 위와 같이 사용할 수 있는데 그 예문으로는

　I had her do the laundry, (빨래하게 하다)

　I made him smile. (웃게 하다)

　I let her stay. (머무르게 하다)

‘help’ 뒤에 동사원형과 To 부정사가 올수 있지만 보통 동사 원형을 더 많이 쓴다.

또 ‘help someone with~’는 ‘누군가가 ~을 하는 것을 돕다’의 의미로 여기서 나오는 ‘with’는 ‘~와’라고 해석하기 보다는 뒤에 오는 표현에 따라 자연스럽게 해석하는 게 좋다.

– he helped me with my homework. 그가 내 숙제를 도와줬어.

마지막으로 ‘the more 더 많은‘은 ‘the better 더 나은’으로 바꾸는 건 가능하지만 The harder you work, the more/better reputation은 완벽한 문장이 아니므로 형식을 맞게 고쳐줘야 한다. ➜ the 비교급 + 주어 + 동사, the 비교급 + 주어 + 동사로 The harder you work, the more/better reputation you will get. 가 맞는 형식의 표현이다.
