* 현재완료진행 [has/have been + ~ing]

: ‘계속해서, 내내’ 등의 의미로 쓰이는 현재완료진행형(현재완료+진행형)은 현재완료와 마찬가지로 과거부터 현재까지의 기간을 나타내는 부사(since, for, recently, all afternoon, this week 등)와 함께 사용할 수 있으며, 구체적 과거시점 표현 (yesterday, in 2016, on Tuesday, two days ago등)과는 사용할 수 없음.

* 능력을 나타내는 표현: ‘be able to’와 ‘can’은 ‘~할 수 있다’란 의미로 사용될 때 서로 대체 가능. ‘be able to’는 좀 더 격식있는 표현.

9. 느낀점

day202에서 퀴즈렛 테스트가 나왔는데 늘 그렇듯이 먼저 카드맞추기부터 한다. 그런데 보통은 5-6회 정도 같은 어휘가 나온 뒤에는 새로운 어휘가 1-2 개 정도 바뀌어 나오곤 하는데 이번 카드맞추기는 계속 같은 어휘가 나왔다. 덕분에 확실하게 익힐 수 있어서 학습하기 테스트를 해 보았더니 성적이 좋게 나왔다. 오랜만에 퀴즈렛 모두학습 축포를 받았다. 택이학생과 제니샘의 대화를 열심히 받아 적었다. 택이학생의 영어실력이 많이 는 게 보인다. 나도 늘어야하는데 말이다. 택이학생은 8살 때부터 했지만, 나는 13살(중1)부터 영어를 해 왔고, 열악한 환경이었다고 나 스스로에게 위안을 해 본다.

day 205 퀴즈렛 학습에 나오는 단어들이 너무 어려워서 10번을 해도 외워지지 않았다. 부정접두사가 들어간 단어들인데 어려운 단어가 많았다. 퀴즈렛 카드맞추기에는 ‘용납할 수 없는’으로 써야 되는 걸 오타도 있었다. 불가항력적인 irresistible은 발음도 어렵고 스펠링도 어려워 외워지지 않는다. “im~, un~, dis~”는 익숙한 부정접두사이지만 “ir~, il~”은 좀 생소했다. irresponsible은 그래도 responsible 이란 단어가 익숙해서 그나마 ir을 붙여서 카드맞추기를 맞췄지만 다른 건 어려워 틀리고, 평소보다 시간이 훨씬 많이 소요되었다.
